Hosting and UC-as-a-Service provider Sipcom has opened a new Singapore data centre in a continued expansion into the Asia Pacific market. This new facility, chosen to meet the growing demands of the region’s rapidly growing technology and information sector is the eighth new data centre location for Sipcom, the London-based UC provider. A leading global UC and voice hosting provider, Sipcom manages hundreds of thousands of subscriptions across its platforms. Although historically SIPCOM has delivered its Sipcom private cloud offering to UK and North America clients in the last two years it has expanded into APAC.
“Our operating agreement enables us to quickly expand our data centre presence across Asia Pacific,” comments Daniel Allen, CEO, Sipcom. “We already have customers in the APAC region; however, demand has significantly increased. Our customer base tends to be globally distributed enterprise customers who have different needs to customers satisfied with public cloud offerings. Our customers use our secure and dedicated HALO™ platform to meet the challenges of compliance, security and interoperability. This extension of our offering serves our growing APAC customer base well.”
Sipcom has a range of hosted services and is targeting hybrid needs in the region. The company offers its Sipcom UC offering through its eight-datacentre network supported by full managed services including backup and disaster recovery services. “We’ve been making UC and voice cloud services available since 2006,” CEO Daniel Allen explained. “Within the next few years, APAC cloud-computing usage is forecast to outpace the rest of the world. By launching our datacentre in Singapore, we’re meeting that demand head-on and capitalising on a growing market opportunity with innovative businesses establishing a presence in the region.” For its newest datacentre, Sipcom evaluated numerous locations before selecting Singapore. Of all the locations tested, Singapore met or exceeded every benchmark. The business has plans to continue to invest in its infrastructure and expand the Sipcom HALO™ Platform globally.
