Sipcom today joins the Content+Cloud group, and deepens its digital transformation and managed services capabilities, with key unified communication and collaboration services and tools within the Microsoft ecosystem.
The acquisition of Sipcom by the Content+Cloud group, establishes the business as a global service provider to UK businesses, with annualized revenues reaching £100m and a headcount of more than 775 professionals.
With a roster of global brands as customers, including Ralph Lauren, Jim Beam, UBS, Smith & Williamson and supporting over 50,000 UK Central Government users, Sipcom brings unrivalled expertise and capabilities in the voice communications and collaboration space to Content+Cloud’s customers. UK-headquartered, but with global reach, Sipcom provides Content+Cloud with its first presence in the US, and the ability to deliver Microsoft Teams and other unified communications and collaboration services on a global basis.
The Sipcom HALO™ Platform delivers a unified, secure, and resilient architecture managing users across three continents. While a Microsoft specialist, Sipcom can accommodate a diverse range of collaboration and communication products and solutions on behalf of its public and private sector customer base. Within Content+Cloud, Sipcom will be the unified communications and collaboration platform provider to Content+Cloud’s customers and continue to serve its growing channel partners seeking to scale their own voice and communications portfolios.
Daniel Allen, CEO, Sipcom, commented: “Sipcom has always punched above its weight as a business. Our close relationship with Microsoft, our track record of deploying services around the world, and our many accolades including inclusion in the 2020, Sunday Times Tech Track 100 are evidence of our commitment to excellence in delivering enterprise-class communications and collaboration services.
“Joining Content+Cloud is the next vital stage in realising our potential as the leading provider of enterprise voice and communication capabilities. Content+Cloud has a stellar reputation for implementing Microsoft technologies, helping their clients of all sizes to digitally transform and, through their Prosci® Adoption and Change management team, accelerate user adoption. These factors made the joining of our two companies not only desirable, but inevitable. Together we now have the platform, the people, and the support to rapidly accelerate our collective growth.”
Following the 2018 purchase of leading Microsoft 365 partner, Content and Code, and Azure specialist, Sol-Tec, in March last year, Sipcom is the latest in a series of strategic acquisitions that deepen Content+Cloud’s proposition as the principal provider of the technologies and services that span Microsoft’s three clouds – Microsoft 365, Azure, and Dynamics 365. These acquisitions were complemented by the acquisition of cybersecurity
specialist, Perspective Risk in 2017 and SMB specialist Mirus IT in 2019, to establish Content+Cloud’s unique capabilities across managed and Microsoft focused professional services.
Peter Sweetbaum, CEO, Content+Cloud, stated: “Over the last five years we have brought together some of the most exciting businesses within the Microsoft technology ecosystem, expanding on our market-leading cloud-native, Azure and Modern Workplace capabilities. Content+Cloud is one of the most certified Microsoft cloud specialists globally and the acquisition of Sipcom enables us to help our customers unlock even greater value across Microsoft’s three clouds”.
“Teams is the most important collaboration platform in the market today and will be even more important for businesses over the coming years as new ways of working become the norm. Through the integration of third-party applications and services and the ability to utilise the power of Azure Cognitive Services and Microsoft Graph to surface rich content and provide deeper insight for customers, Teams will continue to be the most powerful front end to user experience.”
This is Content+Cloud’s fifth acquisition since private equity firm ECI Partners acquired a majority stake in the firm – then IT Lab – in 2016. ECI typically invests in ambitious, growth businesses valued up to £250m.
